Yes, The CX-9 has the same engine but it has a turbo and a much heavier weight. In the Mazda 3 specification, it is incredibly reliable. But the CX-9 not only has more components that can break, it has more strain due to weight, and some design issues where it cannot handle the turbo boost for endless hundreds of thousands of kilometers that the Mazda 3 is known for.
